What if you had no electricity, no gas, no water and no telephone service. What if all the businesses are closed and you are without any kind of emergency services. What will you do until help arrives?

Preventing Hand And Wrist Injuries

Problem: Hands and wrists that are tight and inflexible are more likely to get injured. Also, if your hands and wrists perform the same motion over and over all day long you are at a high risk for injury.
Solution: Sister McBitter says, "take frequent hand and wrist breaks and gently stretch those tender tendons, luscious ligaments and manly muscles."
Exercises such as applying Jungle Red nail polish are fine, but frequent passenger interruptions can cause a mess, or worse yet a spill onto your flask.
Instead, try exercises that only take five minutes to do -- right at your work station. Repeat 10 times. Then let your arms hang loose and shake them for a few seconds. When shaking, think disco era ... Donna Summer, Gloria Gayner ... Girl, Sister wants lots of that deep shoulder action.
- Extend your arms in front of you. Flex your hands as though you are pushing Glenn Tilton's head against a wall. Hold as you count to five. (If you were actually pushing Glenn Tilton's head against a wall, hold until twenty minutes after coroner arrives)
- Make tight fists and bend both wrists downward. Hold as you count to five.
- Straighten your wrists and relax your fingers for a count of five.

A. Plan In Advance for Disaster
If the unthinkable happens, you'll be in a "reaction mode" with no time to plan. That's a disadvantage. Instead, plan now, while you're free of panic.
B. Designate Your Own Personal Physician In Advance

C. Report Safety Issues

Designate your own personal physician in advance. The reason to do it now is that Workers Comp laws have changed in favor of greedy corporations like United Airlines and Gallagher Bassett.
They CAN attempt to delay treatment until the injury goes away on its own or until you pay out of pocket for treatment. Either way, they win; You lose.
Sister McBitter doesn't like that, so she's created a pdf form you can down load right now. Fill it out. Have your doctor sign it in advance, indicating agreement to treat you for Workers Comp (another legal change in favor of greedy corporations). File it with the company.
The good news is that the entire process is still simple.
The bad news is that some medical communities put your request in a "Catch-22," which effectively denies you this privilege. Sutter Health Plan Davies Campus, a Blue Cross provider is an example.
One word of caution: A form in use by United Airlines' Business Center in SFO is worded poorly in favor of the company (surprise, surprise), and the Business Center manager will tell you you must sign it. Don't.
